CIAP (Central Interregional Artisans of Peru) is a non-profit, self-managed association of artisan producer groups. It was founded in 1992.
CIAP’s mission is to promote the development of the artisans, their families and communities by marketing their products under better terms of trade. Its member groups have different craft specialties for example, a wonderful array of hand-painted ceramics (including nativity sets), the making of an interesting variety of musical instruments, unique jewellery items and hand-knitted alpaca clothing. The artisans are located in various regions of Peru as well as marginalised districts of Lima.
