Description
For thousands of years, Indigenous peoples have practised the tradition of the Yarning Circle – coming together to foster good relationships through sharing and listening in a creative, respectful and harmonious environment. This “Yarn Up” resource, designed by talented Indigenous artist Sherren Gross, is a great way of introducing children to the tradition, and then establishing your own yarning circle. The yarning mat base transforms into a storage bag to keep all the “people” safe! Included is a set of age appropriate question cards to help start conversations, and background information on yarning. There are 10 dolls in the Yarn-up.
The design is purchased under licence, and with Sherren’s approval the finished product is hand made by artisans at Fair Trade producer Artisans’ Effort in Kolkata India.
