WISDOM OF THE TREE

“Trees are a part of everything, and so are we.  They are the heart beat of Mother Earth and her powerful energy”, writes First Nations artist Sherren Gross, who has designed a visually beautiful resource to introduce young minds to the unique place trees have in every aspect of life.

 Trees are the filters that clean the air we breathe;  in trees our Australian bush provides food and nutrients to Mother Earth for our people and wildlife.  The roots of some of the grandest of trees travel kilometres under the ground to find the right nutrients.  They are buzzing with life, providing shade and shelter for our wildlife;  Birds nest and nurture their young and spiders make their webs.

In Indigenous culture trees align with Spirit Ancestors, the true guardians of the Land.  They are part of the Dreaming, and teach important lessons in honouring and respecting their importance in our lives.

Within an attractive, zippered case, this set gives prominence to a beautiful tree,  with many individual wildlife creatures for young learners to set up a scene as they learn about nature and connection to the Land.  Under licence, Sherren’s unique design has been faithfully reproduced by artisans  at Fair Trade producer group Artisans Effort in India.
